The Real Housewives Franchise Comes To Vancouver, Canada

OttawaCitizen.com:
Canadians are about to get a whole new perspective on their laid-back, West Coast cousins when The Real Housewives franchise comes north of the border.

Following in the diamond-encrusted footsteps of Orange County, New York City, Atlanta, New Jersey, Beverly Hills and Miami, Vancouver will be getting its own version of the popular American show, set to debut April 4 (9 p.m. on Slice).

On Tuesday, Shaw Media revealed in a press release the identities of the "privileged, powerful and glamorous women" whose lives the show will follow: free-spirited jet-setter Christina Kiesel, self-made businesswoman and fashionista Jody Claman, former pageant queen Mary Zilba, adrenalin junkie Reiko MacK-enzie, and winery owner and "luxury toy aficionado" Ronnie Seterdahl Negus.

Like its American counterparts, the series promises to highlight the life of Vancouver's elite, and will feature the ladies dining at Vancouver's top restaurants and partying at its finest galas.

According to the release, this sea-son will see its varied cast members "try to re-launch a singing career, manage a high-end clothing boutique, train for a mixed-martial arts green belt, celebrate a landmark birthday and start up a wine label."

"The Real Housewives of Vancouver is packed with all of the juiciest storylines, drama, power, wealth and glamour that viewers love about the huge, international hit franchise. Every episode will leave people wanting more," Barbara Williams, senior vice-president of content for Shaw Media, said in a statement. "There's an insatiable appetite for the Housewives' series and we are thrilled to launch the first ever Canadian edition."

Following the special two-hour premiere, the series will settle into its regular time, Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on Slice.
